Studio Art Scholarship Application

    Studio Art Scholarships are available for incoming full-time, first-year and transfer students intending to pursue a Studio Art minor. The $1,500 award is renewable for four years.

    How to Apply:

    • Submit the online application below and include all supplemental materials by Jan. 20, 2025.
      • Upload your resume that includes your arts experiences and the duration of each.
      • Submit two letters of recommendation that include insights into your arts experiences.
      • Include the link to your online portfolio of 15 images with a description of each work that includes the medium used.
    Recipients of the Scholarship:
    • Must maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher.
    • Pursue a Studio Art minor in addition to your major.
    • Assist with Art Club and/or Makerspace activities.

    Guidelines for Letters of Recommendation
    Your recommender should address the following questions in their letter:
    • How long and in what capacity have they known you?
    • How would they describe your capacity for learning and creative problem-solving, particularly through visual media?
    • What do they see as your personal strengths?

    Studio Art Experience Resume
    Your resume should include your student arts experiences and the duration of involvement for each.

    Portfolio
    Provide a link to your online portfolio (with password if password protected) OR email the images directly to Eileen Sullivan at sulli122@canisius.edu. Your portfolio should include 15 images with descriptions of the     medium used and year of completion near each image.
