AWARD
$1,500 scholarships are available to incoming freshman and transfer students. Scholarships are in addition to merit awards and are renewable for 4 years.
CRITERIA
· Admission to Canisius University as a full-time student for Fall 2025.
· Completed on-line application form.
· Submission of additional application materials, below.
ADDITIONAL APPLICATION MATERIALS
In one email, or on one flash drive, applicant should additionally submit:
· Two letters of recommendation from teachers, counselors, or community and/or church leaders. One of the two letters should be from an art teacher familiar with the applicant’s work who can comment on the student’s art skills. Letters must be in PDF format.
· Portfolio showing examples of the applicant’s work. Portfolio may be submitted via a link to an online portfolio (if password protected, password MUST be provided in email).
RECIPIENTS
After review of completed application by the scholarship committee, students will be notified by mail.
CONDITIONS
Scholarship students must:
· Enter Canisius University with the intent to pursue a studio art minor.
· Maintain a 2.5 GPA.
· Assist with art club and/or Makerspace activities.
